Director, Private Debt Research - Copenhagen
We are looking for a full-time Director to lead our Corporate Private Debt Research team, a newly established function within Private Debt, overseeing credit analysis and coverage of existing portfolio names. The team will initially employ two full-time professionals but is expected to grow over time. The Private Debt team currently comprises nine full-time professionals.
The core focus of the Private Debt team is financing of mid-market private equity-backed LBOs in the Nordics, DACH, and Benelux. The Private Debt strategy is currently investing from its fifth fund and manages more than €5bn of assets.
Job description
- Set up and lead the Private Debt Research team which is charged with post-closing coverage of existing portfolio names, including financial updates, internal and external reporting, borrower and agent communication, and taking add-on transactions to Investment Committee.
- Participate on Investment Committee meetings for new transactions and current portfolio names, working closely with the Private Debt Origination team and the Distressed and Special Situations team.
- Meet with current and prospective institutional investors and prepare associated materials, being ultimately responsible for credit coverage across portfolios.
- Optimise internal working processes and collaborate closely with other teams, including Portfolio Optimisation, Operations, Business Development, Risk, and Private Debt.
- Ownership of portfolio credits and associated fundamental data.
Qualifications
- 8-15 years of experience from leveraged finance, buyside credit or a similar role in bank, pension fund, asset manager or other investment organisation.
- A master’s degree in economics, finance, or equivalent, with great academic credentials.
- A structured work approach with an ability to consistently deliver high quality results.
- Profound analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Team-player with an ambitious and proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and high proficiency in written and spoken English.
